The Reason Type A Girls Manifest the Slowest

Hiiii, Louise here. I’ve been a Type-A overworking, overachieving perfectionist since the day I was born. I entered this world in just two hours (don’t ask my Mum how that went for her...) so if you think I’ve ever been chill about doing literally anything… you’d be mistaken. I think fast, move fast, act fast, and react fast and I LOVE IT. Except… every Type A has a weak spot. A quiet one. That keeps looping. Am I right?

The Type A overachiever can master just about anything through grit, determination and execution… until she hits that one blind spot. The love life that never quite clicks. The attraction to the avoidant, unavailable, loosely toxic man (repeatedly). The person that won’t commit. The on-off relationship with food, fitness, or rest. The spurts of giving it your all and then crashing hard. The self-care that always slips to the bottom of the list. And no matter how hard she tries to “fix” it, this weak spot just keeps circling back.

So Why Can’t We Crack That Weak Spot?

Let’s rewind. At the core of changing your reality or breaking a habit is the principle behind manifestation: the body’s ability to lay down new neural pathways through neuroplasticity and myelination. With repetition, these new pathways begin to hold new beliefs... leading to new thoughts, reactions, feelings, decisions, and responses. And over time? If you’re consistent, these pathways become stronger than the old, outdated ones. That’s when life starts to feel easier. When ‘trying’ actually actually leads to ‘shifting’.

Back to Basics, Frequency Is Everything

Every emotion we experience holds an energetic frequency (thank you, Dr. David Hawkins), and as we start to feel new emotions (associated with these new pathways), we start to create new and measurable changes in our nervous system, heartbeat, and brain wave patterns. In the world of manifestation, it’s believed that by shifting the frequency of our internal beliefs and emotions, we naturally begin to attract a different external reality — like energy drawing in like energy.

And the problem? Stress F**ks It All

But here’s the kicker... stress and chronic stress f**ks this entire process — both manifestation and neural rewiring. To lay new neural pathways, you need cellular energy and BDNF and a body that feels safe, calm, and regulated. And those Type A girlies with a propensity for doing it all often exist in a chronic state of stress (even if it feels baseline normal and productive). This gets in the way of any real change that isn’t just forced by your conscious mind.

When you’re Type A-ing, cortisol is high and BDNF is low, so your old belief patterns, responses, and coping mechanisms keep firing on repeat. And no matter how many affirmations you say, how vividly you visualize, how many times you script or journal, or how much you talk it out in therapy… nothing will change. This is the loop of intellectually understanding the problem with zero ability to actually shift or pattern break into a new experience. And you know that one, am I right?

The Type A Default: Try Harder

In this world, doing more and pushing more isn’t the answer. It often leads to more stress, more dysregulation, more shame-fueled action, and more disconnection. And meditating? That doesn’t always feel good either. The good news? I found a different way. I’m living proof that you can shift, release, rewire, and expand your life — through movement and by moving energy through the body.

(And when I mean the proof, I mean that I have been on an 18 year journey to heal my chronic pain-based autoimmune disorder that no traditional medical doctor was able to even loosely help me with). And what I learned?

Movement Is Magic

Exercise is amazing for moving energy, emotion and the byproducts of stress through the body (yes, your liver has to process the byproducts of toxic stress metabolites), but no one is talking about how rhythmic walking is literally magic for Type As. It doesn’t just feel good - it rewires you (in a way that is so much healthier than your disconnect, disassociate, Hot Pilates class push through). Rhythmic walking activates EMDR-style brain healing through the bilateral stimulation of our left-right-left-right foot pattern, helping the body safely release what it’s ready to let go of.

A 2021 study published in NeuroImage confirmed that whole-body locomotive movement, like walking, doesn’t just support mental health — it actually stimulates brain regions associated with emotional regulation, memory, and neuroplasticity. Walking also lowers cortisol and regulates the nervous system, creating the sense of safety the body needs to rewire, while boosting BDNF — the protein you need to form new neural connections.

Another study from 2023 showed that walking and barre significantly impacted cortisol, serotonin, and inflammation levels — while also boosting immunity. Which means walking isn’t just a vibe… it’s a protocol. Especially if you can get out in nature — a 2019 study found that cortisol levels drop even more in forest environments than they do in cities. And for me, I’ve also found that it helps my body, and reduces my cellulite. You can TELL when I’m walking.

Walking Elevations Are My Secret

This is what I built inside Daily Devotion: Walking Elevations — 15–30 minute guided walking rituals that combine euphoric music, subconscious rewiring, breath cues, somatic scripting, affirmations, and nervous system regulation all in one go. I created these because I couldn’t find them anywhere - and all of the walking meditations I could find didn’t get anywhere near hitting the spot.

For me, this Walkign Elevation is the ultimate daily ritual - it’s habit-stacking my daily steps with an audio track that delivers euphoric music, breath cues, affirmations, visualisations, and emotion shifting too. They help me lean into my strengths of doing, moving, alchemizing, evolving, and growing. And let’s be honest — sometimes the only gap we have for us in our crazy day is the 20-minute gap between Zoom calls, am I right? All you have to do is plug in and walk, and the magic starts happening from your first step.

This Is Why I Created Step Into Her

This is my 6-day walking elevation challenge where you get to experience these tracks and commit to doing 1 walk a day for 6 days. All you need is 15–30 minutes and you’ll join 100s of women doing this too. When I commit to walking daily, life begins to speed up in the best way — opportunities fly into my inbox and the physical changes follow: my autoimmune flares stay at bay, I reduce body fat and cellulite, and I started sleeping better. It was a win–win–win... just how us Type A girls like it.

So This Is Your Invite for my Type A Girls

Because I am YOU... and it is excruciatingly busy and lonely to be a Type A, high-achieving, high-performing woman who spends every hour of every day holding it together, while also having no time to ever truly give to yourself or your evolution. It has never felt better to know that every single day, I have something that gets me outside, gets me moving, gets me walking, gets me breathing, gets me feeling, and gets me shifting.

And knowing it also helps my physical health and autoimmune symptoms too? Even better.

If you’re ready to move through it — not just think through it — you can try Step Into Her free with a 7-day trial of Daily Devotion.
